This is the start of a new series we'll share every Tuesday, ranging from wedding etiquette to table manners! Have any tips for us? Let us know!
Ahh, September - signaling the start of cooler weather, football games, pumpkin-spiced everything and cozy sweaters. But, with the busy days of fall comes the need to stay organized so we aren't too frazzled to enjoy all of the wonderful things we love about fall.
If you're just getting started with organizing, or if you need some organization inspiration, here are a few tips:
1. Get an agenda. (And keep up with it!)
Someone once told me that if you write something down you're more likely to follow through with it. I couldn't agree more! To do lists, even when not fully completed, give you goals throughout the day so that you don't get sidetracked with small tasks. (Our favorites can be found in store!)
2. Plan your meals.
Anyone else go into the grocery store after a long day of work just to walk every aisle trying to figure out what to eat for dinner? Set aside 30 minutes to an hour each week to plan your family's meals and create a corresponding grocery list (breakfast for dinner is a totally acceptable meal). You'll quickly find how simple and effective meal planning can be.
3. Take charge of the cluttered kitchen counter.
My family has a habit of throwing anything and everything on the counter upon walking into the kitchen, be it a magazine, old mail or yesterday's water bottle. Before going to bed each night, take some time to de-clutter the countertops and put dishes away so that the next morning, you'll wake up to a clean kitchen.
Though there are many other ways to stay organized, I think these three tips will get you started on your road to organization. Happy September!
